Here are some pictures from our trip to Playa. It was wonderful, easy to get to and so relaxing. There were more people than I would have preferred, but for a first ever trip to tropical Mexico, I’ll give it a superb!
Taking off from Terminal 2 in Austin. That was weird…not only did we have to go to the other side of the airport, but we had to walk up an outdoor ramp to the plane! Old timey!

This was taken right when we got to the hotel three hours too early. Our room was not ready, but we could hang out at the pool or the beach. It was my first time ever on a Mexican beach. Ahhhh, it was nice. And HOT!

The first step off into the sand. Oh yeah, take off your shoes! Duh!

At a restaurant killing time before the room was ready and we could change into our beach attire.

Later that day…

Tulum ruins. It thunderstormed on us that day. We had completed an adventure trip (mountain biking, ziplines, snorkeling, empanadas!) and as soon as we got to the Tulum ruins, it started raining. But it was ok. We swam a little at the beach there. It was fun floating in the rolling waves watching the rain on the water.

A little backgammon at Gaia – the best Mediterranean food in Playa (well, the only Mediterranean place we went to, but it was delicious!)

It was so humid there – this is what my lens suffered the first few minutes out of the bag in the mornings. Kind of a nice effect, though.
